Not long ago we took our first in August trip to the sea side. Since we are familiar with most of the coastline from Hull to Seaham (and Wales seemed to be a bit too far away) finding an interesting destination was a bit of a challenge. Of course I'd love to go and explore Scotland for a week (and cheap hotels/glampods in Iverness/Aberdeen), but it's too far away for baby. And we needed a place that's pretty close to us, so Alice won't get annoyed by extremly long car journey.
So we decided on Skegness. Which is pretty nice spot if you have kids. Sandy beaches, rides, arcades.. Heaven.
For a change we had a really nice weather. It was a bit windy, but warm enough to embark on the few hour long walk. However, it was too cool for Alice to wear her little swimsuit. Oh, well, never mind, she'll have a lot more opportunities to wear it next summer (and it'll be probably even more fun to play in sand building castles and digging holes).
On the bright side, hotel we stayed in had a bouncy castle and Ali seems to like it.
Overall, we had fun and few day trip with 7 month old baby is definately challenging. It's autumn now and I can't wait for warm days to come back so we can travel again:)
