First Birthday

Time flies super fast when you have kids. I bet you heard that more than once, but never really believed it. Neither I. But now I look back at 2015 and the massive rollercoster we went thru and I can't believe Ali has been with us full year now. 12 months. 365 day. WOW!

Since Christmas were just few days ago we didn't go crazy with presents. Just few little toys she can play with. And she loved them (all the photos I tried to take came out blurry, boo!).

Carrot cake with philadephia frosting was a hit. Ali loved it and managed to squeeze half of it in her little tummy. I have no clue how she managed to do it but the sugar rush afterwards was funny. And then she crashed few hours later while eating supper. She's till a baby.

That's all for the birthday update. I wish you all great 2016 :)!

Baby First Christmas|Decorations

!!Merry Christmas!!

It's that time of year again, but for us it feels so new and fresh, because it's Ali's first ever Christmas. I've decided to decorate whole house festive, but will only share few little things here, as some of the parts don't look as pretty as I imagined. Well, it's not the end of world, since Ali doesn't even understand a concept of Christmas.

Festive moodboard! From the beginning I wanted a corkboard to be in baby room, filled with pictures. It makes the space 100 times prettier plus it's something interesting to look at. I try to stick with bold and clean shapes and colors, but I couldn't say no to more detailed cards. Oh and we have Ali's hand print, so cute! (she did that during play group at local children centre).

Foot-print snowman card :) We also made that during the play group and it was so much fun!
Our tiny tree with all the decorations on and cards laying around.

And let's not forget the little helper, who made our Christmas prep jolly ;).

Time to start anew|Back from hiatus

This little blog went extremly quiet after just few posts and I'm really sorry. The last few months proven to me that being a mum and blogger is hard. Ali requires more and more time and attention which makes peaceful writing difficult. Not only that - at some point I became really critical about my own posts. I seek perfection, which is bad habit. Having 9-10 posts that are nearly finished and ready to upload, but not 'up to standard' in my eyes creates a conflict. Perfect recipe for prolonged silence.
Again, I'm sorry and promise to do better. Afterall it's December, house is full of pretty festive decorations and I just want to share the joy.

Skegness| Trip Diary

Not long ago we took our first in August trip to the sea side. Since we are familiar with most of the coastline from Hull to Seaham (and Wales seemed to be a bit too far away) finding an interesting destination was a bit of a challenge. Of course I'd love to go and explore Scotland for a week (and cheap hotels/glampods in Iverness/Aberdeen), but it's too far away for baby. And we needed a place that's pretty close to us, so Alice won't get annoyed by extremly long car journey.
So we decided on Skegness. Which is pretty nice spot if you have kids. Sandy beaches, rides, arcades.. Heaven.
For a change we had a really nice weather. It was a bit windy, but warm enough to embark on the few hour long walk. However, it was too cool for Alice to wear her little swimsuit. Oh, well, never mind, she'll have a lot more opportunities to wear it next summer (and it'll be probably even more fun to play in sand building castles and digging holes).
On the bright side, hotel we stayed in had a bouncy castle and Ali seems to like it.
Overall, we had fun and few day trip with 7 month old baby is definately challenging. It's autumn now and I can't wait for warm days to come back so we can travel again:)

Baby Food Adventures|Rice+Veg

Preparing food for 8 month old baby can be sometimes a struggle. On one hand there is this urge to try different thing every day or at least make each meal perfect and nutritious, and on the other, there is boredom. Repeatition. We have been prepping meals for Alice every single day from scratch for the past 3 months and while having steam cooker on the side cooking veggies for little one is great, you sometimes wish to just make everything in one pot. And thats how this recipe was born.

I was planning on cooking something risotto-like for few weeks now and timing seemed to be perfect. I've used a normal long grain rice, can of peeled tomatoes, some carrots and added spinach at the end. Since we're trying our best to keep Alice aways from proccessed foods, added sugar and salt, I haven't used any stock cubes or spices until her little portion was moved to the blender container.

I wasn't sure how she'd react to rice. She had tomatoes before and absolutely love carrots. My worries were unnecessary as she stormed thru the portion with the massive appetite and smile!

Let's do it! | Welcome to the baby land

You know what guys? I always wanted to start a blog, where I would be able to post about everyday things. If you don't know me I've been blogging for years, but never really talked much about my life. I love blogs like Kaylah's daintysquid and since Alice came to this world I've been toying with the idea of documenting and sharing our journey.

You may be wondering why am I even writing all of this. It's because I like to start a blog with an introduction of sort. A little welcome post. So.. Hello! Hope you'll enjoy this little space, which soon (fingers crossed) will fill up with baby related posts.
